ROLE:
you will report to the FTL Operations Manager and your role consists in creating and maintaining strategic partnerships with hauliers and transport providers in order to fulfil the capacity needed on the assigned corridors, and constantly ensure the smooth and flawless execution of all transport requests, so that client SLAs are accomplished, and targets are achieved.
You will perform your duty and execute the requested transports by using own fleet, subcontracted fleets or third-party transport providers selected from an existing network or database or from the spot market/freight exchange platforms/freight forwarding industry; you will choose the most adequate option on your own or upon instructions received by your line manager, depending on the case.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Source transport partners and providers through all available channels: internal and external databases, web, events, chamber of commerce, etc.;
- Manage commercial relationship with transport partners and service providers;
- When executing the transport orders, supervise and coordinate the work and performance of own fleet or trusted suppliers, focusing on the assigned lane(s), guaranteeing all needed trucking equipment is provided to the client by our suppliers, according to customer requests;
- Monitor own fleet or supplier performance, the required documents and paperwork, the economic targets, review supplier invoices crosschecking with the data present in the system;
- Address potential areas of improvement by proactively proposing new solutions and procedures;
- Effective use of the system and its applications (timely cost input, order management, sending communications and instructions etc.);
- Coordinate with other Company branches at destination, to urgently share the information about the transport and the carrier, in order to create a round trip; reduce the KMs made by empty trucks to decrease loss and maximise profit;
- Guarantee time-effective communications with clients, sales departments or other Company units in case of delays or problems with collections or deliveries.
Ideal profile:
- Team worker, with exceptional organizational skills, quick at calculating and estimating, negotiator, transforms stress into bursts of energy, never sees problems but challenges to tackle or learn from, calls it a day only when everything has been fixed, solved or addressed;
- At least 1 or 2 years of operational experience as International TRANSPORT FTL/LTL OPERATIONS/FLEET DISPATCHER/FTL-LTL Customer Service;
- English and French are mandatory.
